Fished foynes quay from 6pm until 9:30pm with high tide at 10pm. Caught an 8lb ray early on to mackerel but nothing after that. I had a number of light slack line bites closer to high tide and could feel the fish but missed the strike every time. I think they were fish to small for my 4/0 hooks.
I've heard access to the port will be closed off with a gate in the future to comply with American anti-terrorism laws.

Foynes 26-07-04
Fished from 7.30pm to 9.30pm had a conger pull my gear under the pier early on but eventually got it back minus the conger. Nothing after that and the current was very strong for casting out for ray without getting crossed lines.
