If you're willing to travel a few miles to Brandon then give it a go. I was there in early July and we were taking 3-4lb wrasse off the pier at high tide. We were using peeler and lug, both from Landers in Tralee. The mackerel bashers will all be at the end of the pier but we caught all the wrasse just off the left hand wall beside the big telephone pole. Also fished Magherees (Scraggane Pier) where we caught some nice sized wrasse and a few coalies aswell. All high tide or tide coming in. Don't forget to get a few scoops in Nora Murphys if you are down that way!!!!

Hi lumpy
Fished fenit today with mackeral and lugs and caught nothing met one person who caught 1 mackeral. loads of holiday makers fishing off the via duct also the head of the pier is filling up with crane parts.
If you are thinking of coming to fenit and want to avoid the tourists i would suggest fishing of the rocks below the statue of st brendan (south side) some good depth of water there or else at night. saw some english guy catching wrasse of the pier last week on the viaduct near the new marina.
good luck.
