shannon estuary limerick
i fished kiltery pier last night only some small dab doing. a few good bites without hooking up. but some locals were jigging for mackeral has anyone actually seen mackeral being caught here? :?: :?:

Mackerel were here in numbers this time last year but as far as I'm aware this hadn't occured before though the odd shoal used to come in here. They have been caught in some of the estuary marks this year but I haven't heard if they've come as far as Kilteery. I wouldn't take to much note of lads mackerel bashing unless their getting fish. Their was lads here in november wacking away well after the run was over.

Shannon estuary mackerel
Hi Guys
There are now mackerel up to and above scattery island, so should be there in dribs and drabs now, and with settled weather should again push up as far as kilteery
Last year was exceptional in terms of numbers and how far they ran up the estuary though
