White Strand, Clare

Hi all,
Went fishing about a week ago at white strand near Doonbeg. Caught nothing but my brothers went snorkelling along the rocks on the left hand side of the beach and saw large amount of wrasse feeding off rocks and a lot of sandeel- also lug casts on beach, so a good bait spot...not sure about fishing on beach though coz i had really nice lugs (collected earlier from seafield,beside quilty) and didn't get a thing....... but next time I'm bringing float stuff and gettin me a wrasse... :)

Welcome to the site - good to see the fairer sex getting involved as well. Come to think of it, with Angela Crerand fishing regularly alongside me and your good self popping up on the board, I think I'd better go and edit my Mullaghmore boat report earlier today!

I have fished white strand a few times. I found the best place to be about 200 meters up the beach to the right. There seems to be a better surf here. I have had a few bass off this streach, best to 4.5lb.
