Webbs rock, Howth.

#1 Post by davybrown99 »

Hi all,
Just wondering if someone could could give us directions to the above mark. Have had a look around the bailey area but can't seem to find any reasonably access to anywhere other than the bailey. Also whats access to the telegraph pole like. I know where it is but haven't ventured down as far as the rocks and would like to know if the rocks are safe at high tide with the swell etc.
Any reply or PM with any info welcome.

Thanks guys.

Hiya,

Never fished Webbs rock before but I think the entrance is before the wall around the Bailey, on the lefthandside of the gates. It’s well dodgy to access by all accounts – mb.3 hates it!

The telegraph pole is grand, although stick to the higher rocks in rougher weather. Access is quite easy to this mark. I’ve found the fishing to be quite poor though, with mainly doggies on offer. The very odd bass is caught here, but you would really want to put the hours in to catch one. There is far better bass ground to the north and south of here.
