People:All on my own
Duration:3 hours
Tide:low water at about 5:30
Weather:cloudy,warm
Bait:mackerel,sandeel
Rigs:two hook flapper
Results:12 doggies
Report:Started by taking out my rod to find the biggest ring was broken(cheap rod i'll know better next time) .Changed to other rod only to find the screw for changing the position of the handle on my reel was over tightened and broke(i'll know better time not to give a lefty a loan of a reel) :x . Anyway finally got a line in the water only to harrased by people who were amazed that someone could fish just for the hell of it. A couple of young lads were fishing for conger and got one of about 12-13lb but lost a bigger one, even while using a boat rod he struggled only for the line to snap just as it got to the surface. the place seems to be alive with big conger a the moment.

Interesting to hear G, I havent fished Monkstown since February and its only 5 minutes away from me. I keep meaning to head down some evening with a few macks and a box or two of squid for a conger bash but this bloody bass fishing just keeps getting in the way... :D

Dont mind doggies in the slightest, only thing that puts me off that place is the tide run, severely restricts you as you have a fairly narrow window at times. I suppose at this time of year though your not casting 150 yards into the channel trying to target cod so might not be too bad?

Ian i can't believe you walked in to that one :D . But don't worry Waterford will cut them down to size this weekend. And before anyone else starts the wife and kids are from Cork and i know nothing about stick ball. Anyway all the best marks in the south will be empty this weekend (no crossedlines, mackeral bashers or langers(cork word not mine) about.) :D
