hey lads need a bit of help as regards what rigs to use for smoothhound what strength snoods etc.. thanks in advance

not up on the jargon - but i think its breakaway grip leads - on a foot and a half snood 20lb+ - will do the job

Hi Damien,

I've had a few over the last few weeks and by far the best rig for me was a pulley pennel about 2.5 - 3 foot long, hook sizes 1/0 or 2/0 and most important some peeler of softie on the hook.

I think the pulley allows them to run for a little bit and then when they break the lead out they hook themselves. I've only missed one bite in two sessions this way and haven't dropped any fish on the retreive, having 11 in the 2 sessions. No great size bar one, but good craic all the same.
