great pictures - some picturesque place alright - sea like glass - was much being caught?

Stunning day. Quiet day for the fish though. Spent more time exploring reefs and wrecks than fishing. End result was a handful of mackerel for bait lots of gurnard , a herring and 2 nice ling. 1 for Luke at 15lbs and 1 for me at 7 lbs. All fish returned apart from lukes Ling which had its swim bladder in its mouth. I will put a report with all the photos into the boat section

Ahh, happy memories. Picking nice pollack off the reef and watching the fecking seals take the mackerel off your hooks!

Odd enough, I thought the better marks were further up and along from the house, but that probably the mind playing tricks on me.

If anyone has a baot and wants a specimen wrasse from Howth, you need to fish the stack right at the "nose" - this requires you motor against the seriously fast current there so a windless day and a small swell is good but the quality of the wrasse in there is (or at least was) astounding...

Davy I am just using a sony cybershot T5. Nothing fancy. Costs about 250E on amazon or ebay. Takes some very nice shots though and is compact enough to bring anywhere.

Is it just me or is the lesser spotted Mackeral basher the most clueless sole on earth? They annoy me and provide unintentional entertainment at the same time, some of their casting is widely inaccurate and dangerous, it tends to ruin it for people who actually want to fish. I'm not claiming to be the best caster in the world myself, i'm far from it but i need my space when fishing, i've seen bashers spend more time untangling each other / their reel etc than actually fishing, i could never enjoy that. Some entertainment value was added the other day when i watched some dude try to spin for the Mullet he had seen cruising 8)
