places to fish in srangford???

#1 Post by rab01 »

starting taking an interest in trying strangford lough seeing its basically in my own backyard. grew up fishing belfast lough and then basically fished along the antrim coast mostly. i've never fished stranford lough and its somewhere that doesn't get reported too much on the forum, which actually interests me more!! don't want anyone to give up the location of their favourite fishing spot but if anyone could mention a couple of locations and what species i'm likely to catch i'd be very grateful, even pm me if u don't want it public knowledge. :D

the big watery bit in the middle is your best bet!
really away from the narrows you are wasting your time.
i was out the other night in the boat and two of us struggled to get enough mackerel for supper! not a problem really as we were just out for a motor around in the glorious weather.

Island hill throws up a few flounder and very good chance of seatrout and mullet ,i've only fished it a few times so not sure of best tides but low water is handy cos you can get out to the main river channel.
