Brandon Creek 7th July

Fished from the rocks up over the back of the pier, didn't try baits just spun instead. Unfortunately there was a big groundswell and it wasn't practical, or safe, to get close to the water line. This was a real pity because I hooked some really good pollock but couldn't lift them up onto the rocks...one fish was at least 8lb. Mackerel were scare although I picked up one and a bonus launce. Very impressed with the quality of the pollock down here.

Watched a sunfish at the surface no more than 50 yards out, not a huge one but first time I've seen one from the shore.
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

Hi

Yeah that place can be a real bi**h when there is any level of swell, funnels it right in onto the rocks. best not messed with that place.

but get it on a calm day with some wrasse fishing...ahh heaven

sounds like you had some nice pollock there, we have had them up to about eight as well on crab when wrassing

Great mark and great pollack down there. Be very very careful in any kind of swell. Spent half a days boat fishing about three years ago looking for a guy who'd gotten swept off the rocks, all we ever found was his shoe
