TITAN Deluxe Rod Protector

#1 Post by IDPearl »

Got one of these with my Zippy, but it's a stupid design! The strap is chunky, but it's at one end of the bag meaning you either have the bag 3 foot off the floor and about 5 foot stickin up over your head or you have the end near your head and the rest of the rod sticking out in front of you! Why didn't the put the strap in the middle?? The other thing is that it has two sections inside, but they are different lenghts, so you can't seperate the two sections of the rod! Stupid!!

The rod bag is designed to be carried Verticaly. If strap was in the middle it would drag along the ground. :?

If you were 4 foot tall maybe! :? For me, the could have put the stap in a position giving better balance. In the bag, the zippy is about 226cm, the strap is attached at one end of the bag but 140cm from the other. The rod then wants to tip back all the time. :x If they had put the strap closer to the middle, the bottom would still comfortably clear the floor and the rod would be better balanced. :) Maybe it's because I have to walk 45 mins to get to my casting spot, maybe its because I'm over 6 foot tall - whatever it is, it just doesn't feel right and it ticks me off that the 2 halves of the rod are not seperated in the bag!

If you have one and you like it, lucky you. I have one and I don't like it - hence the review.

Its difficult to get a rod bag that will carry a long rod well!

Hi Ian,

I missed the 3 foot clearance bit which is excessive. I wouldn't agree that rod holder should always be in the middle. I recently got the 8' 1" veals rod hold all might. For me at just over 5' 11" it just gives enough clearance and has to be angled walking over un even ground.

Ian,

Check your PM's

The guy who owns Titan knows s*** about fishing, why you so surprised

I agree with everything yoursaying......items like that have to have some balance, its easy if the strap can be ajusted to suit anyone between the heights of 5ft to 6ft tall.......that takes the knowledge of a user....like I said the guy has never fished in his life...worse still...he wont listen to people who do.....

Hi Folks, I had the same trouble with mine in relation to the 2 sides being different lengths..... What I did was to remove the thread along the end of the seperator. Much better job although you have to be careful of the tip eyes as you put it in. Another problem I found was once damp inside it was damed hard to get dried out.
