fishing at ballygally???
being a firm believer in that u could park along any stretch of the antrim coast and catch fish, i'm suprised that i never c anyone fishing at ballygally. i myself drive straight past it everytime to get to glenarm or garrion point etc. but it looks a lovely wee spot for fishing and there is plenty of parking space close. is there any reason why this stretch doesn't get fished???? i'd be very interested in any replies.

i am gonna give it a try and when i catch i will post it on this forum because its for the good of fishing that people know what areas fish well. i would never keep any area i've fished secret and i don't understand anyone who does. if u go onto another forum the british anglers will tell u everything and the location they caught them and r southern friends will always tell u exacty what they've caught, even bass marks!! but for some reason people north of the border have some sickness in that they don't share their experience coz they fear someone will be on their spot next time they fish it. its sad.

Interesting point of view there rab01. I was talking about this to a friend today and saw it the complete opposite to that. I know a lot of people who use this site from down this way that don't post at all because they believe that if they say that a place is fishing well it will automatically be netted the next day. I have always admired the way the northern lads on here share info with each other but if you think the same of down here then maybe its a case of far off hills. :?: :?

bally
I have fished it 3 times this year on way home from somewere else to use bait up.
Only ever had 4 palm sized flatties, not to say there not others there.
It a very sandy clean bit of water so best use rolling non grip waits. and flattie traces with rag and small bits of mac.

Ballygalley is like the rest of the Antrim coast, one day it can fish its socks off and then do nothing for a fortnight.
Have had flatties to perhaps 1 1/2lb off it and dogs galore, witnessed a 2lb plaice caught there but fish that size are pretty rare.
Fish the beach at the bottom of the ramp, too far left of righ and you will be fishing into weed and rocks.

Even a bad days fishing is better than working.

thank u pookie and lee!! i certainly had flatties in mind when i thought about fishing there. as long as there is a chance of a lovely plaice its worth a throw or two. and thanks lee on the advice on where to fish. i'll hopefully get down there soon and lets hope i have something good to post on the forum. :D
