2 Specimen Ballan Wrasse

Hi Guys.Was over in Galway at the weekend doing a bit of fishing for pollock.The weather was very calm and cloudy.The sea was a little bit coloured and a big swell was coming in so it was a bit dicey at times and had to keep a eye on the sea at all times.The pollock we’re been very picky and only plucking at the lures most of the day,so decided to try and lure fish for wrasse.So fished directly under my feet and was straight it to a nice wrasse about 40 cm long.About 15 mins later was into another nice wrasse that took line and managed to keep it out of the kelp and stop the line from rubbing on the rocks.Got it out of the water and measured it and it was 49 cm.Was delighted with that so got the lure back in and about an half hour later had another Wrasse that was 48.5 cm.Had 3 other Wrasse that was in the low 40cm.The best Wrasse fishing I have ever had.Went to the pub with a smile on my face.
