Greystones 21 Aug 2022

#1 Post by padraig »

Myself and the little lady took a spin out to greystones, arriving in the evening to catch the incoming tide rising into sunset. What an evening, seagulls very active further out where there apparently are kelp beds. Some chap in a propelled paraglider flew overhead too, along the shoreline, which gave my little one quite a laugh.

We used frozen crab tipped with mackerel. Caught 3x rays all within 5 mins of a cast, from first cast. I was quite surprised and it was a first for me with ray.

There was a bit of weed, but nothing that would stop you.

Sadly, as I was hoping to get down to the rocks, I left my jumper and jacket at home, so we left at sunset.

A successful trip, but I need to rethink my tactics and explore new spots, as I don't particularly want to catch ray.

Lovely evening though.

That's excellent, never had ray there. Were you fishing at distance? I'll have to try for them sometime.
