Despite it blowing a hooley all weekend, it's fairly clear in Arklow

Re: WEED WATCH - Wicklow / Wexford
Wondering if anyone could give me a steer on what beaches tend to be more reliable in Wicklow in terms of avoiding weed over the summer months. I think I read on this forum before that Kilcoole and Newcastle are best avoided till September. I'm based in North County Dublin but would like to fish the Wicklow beaches now and then over the summer for a change of scenery but there's nothing worse than turning up to a beach unfishable with weed!

Kilmichael Point was unfishable yesterday at the bottom of the tide with lateral weed movement. Leads couldn't hold bottom. Moved to Killoughter and it was manageable right up until the top of the tide, but had to leave then. All lateral movement of suspended weed, not washing up on the beach.

Re: WEED WATCH - Wicklow / Wexford
Anyone fished any of the Wicklow or north Wexford beaches over the last couple of days? Fancy heading down that way tomorrow evening but don't want to do the 1.5 hr trip to be met by rafts of weed. Would really appreciate a heads up

Arklow South weed free last night fishing the drop. Very slow with only pin whiting caught all night between 3 rods.

Kilcoole was unfishable last night with weed. Went on down to Kilgorman which had lots of weed close in but was still fishable if casting beyond it. Had zero fish unfortunately as last time we were down there we'd a nice mix of flats, gurnard, smoothies etc.
