Ennereilly Beach Morning Session

#1 Post by RyanS123 »

Hello All,

Very new to the group and thought I would post a wee report.

Got onto the beach at about 0610, about two or so hours in from low tide. Stuck a two hook pully rig (5/0&3/0), four ounce gripper with a full small squid on (intending to fish for bass) and got into a doggie. Same story for about the next two and a half hours. Landed 4, lost one. Few crabs etc. Tried various lures on a spinning rod. Hour and a half either side of high tide I had a paternauster rig (changed hook sizes during session) on the beach caster with rag tipped with squid to no avail. Might be worth a shot during the night. First time fishing that beach so have no reference with regards to weeds but only lost one trace.

Cheers,
Ryan

Try an evening rising tide using just rag or lug---will help keep the doggies away and might give you a better shot at the bass

and if your fishing into the dark maybe try one rod about 10ft from the shoreline----often works well there
