Portmarnock

#1 Post by Greendag »

Bait, crab, rag, frozen lug
Tide, flooding
Rigs flappers & pulleys
Results: 1 smooth hound, doggies, whiting
I fished Portmarnock tonight from 7:30pm till just after the top of the tide around 10:30. First cast was a flapper rig with rag while I was setting up a pulley rig with crab, almost straight away I got a good bite, knew it was a smoothie straight away, wasn’t a huge one, long enough but slender but it put a proper little fight, the thing went mental :D
Anyways, thought I was in for a hound session but that was the only one, couple of doggies and a couple of whiting followed. All the fish were caught on ragworm, didn’t get anything on the crab. Lovely night to be out, very mild, happy enough to pick up a few fish as well
Pic doesn’t do him justice really :)

Cheers for the report.
The Summer species seem to be tapering off now.
Fresh mak baits can be good from that mark.

I nearly always forget one thing when heading out, a couple of weeks ago I forgot to charge my headlamp, this week left my bit of mackerel in fridge
