Help me identify a fish

#1 Post by Arthur42Dent »

Hi there!
I’ve been trying my luck lure fishing in Rogerstown (unsurprisingly to no avail) and I’ve noticed in the middle of the canal there are fishes jumping and swimming right below the surface with their dorsal fin out of the water, are they mullets? What kind of behaviour is that?

Yes they are mullet. I have seen them there myself.

Most likely mullet but you should try a clear bubble float small hook and bread for some good sport fishing.

You should try a bombada float too, it sits just under top of water. Great for getting your cast out a distance without spooking the fish. Be prepared to have your head wrecked as they do everything with your bait apart from swallow it. They drive me mad but when you do hook one the fight is class. Good luck
