Killiney 16/10/2020

#1 Post by TropicThunder »

Duration:

21:00-00:30

Tide:
High water around 11.30

Weather:
Easterly Breeze, a few showers

Bait:

frozen black lug, mackerel, frozen sandeels

Rigs:

3 and 2 hook flappers
Results:

Dabs, pin whiting

Report:
I set one rod up up with a 3 hook flapper with small hooks cast really close in hoping to tempt some flatties with black lug and mackerel. I was thinking about using one of the shorecast leads to let it roll around but the tide was running a little strong for it I thought.

I put sandeels on the other rod to fish further out for dogfish or something. Unfortunately pin whiting were finding the baits at all ranges.

Fair play, I fished the same night at the tea rooms from 10 to 1am, didn't have a sniff.

Ah ok I saw you down there and I was wondering if it would be better that end of the beach. I don't think there are many Codling around at the moment.
