Killiney 02/10

#1 Post by TropicThunder »

Duration:

21:30-01:30

Tide:
Hight water around 12

Weather:
Clear, a bit of a surf and no weed

Bait:

frozen black lug, squid, frozen sandeels

Rigs:

3 and 2 hook flappers
Results:

Dabs, pin whiting,1 flounder, a strap conger and a dogfish

Report:

I hooked into a decent sized fish on my first cast but it came off in the surf unfortunately  I caught a small conger and dogfish combo on pieces of sandeel about an hour before high water. I caught the Dabs and flounder in close on black lug.

Nice mixed bag.It is always good to see any size of the conger at the end off the line.

Was thinking of trying this tonight with the small break in wind and rain. But is it worth wasting crab.

If fishing crab, I'd head towards Shankill and fish at the bottom of Quinns Road in the rough.
