I had a few casts at Ferrypoint yesterday at the start of the flood not a sign of a cod not even small fish around.
Nothing up the river either.

I've had 4 codling so far, down near Union Hall,
3 under a 1lb , largest 8lb (so I guess a cod, not codling)

Finally got to travel but with the river Tourig the boundary between Cork and Waterford my favourite spots up the river and Ferrypoint were still out of bounds. Anyway reports I was getting back from these marks were poor over the last few days.
I had a look at Youghal beach but it was way too calm for my liking.
I ended up a Green park not a smell of a cod.

I have been getting a few cod from around youghal, but very sporadic. The beach has fished best. usually 1or 2 per session . nice size thoug 3-5 pound range. fished the town end last week. low to high water. flounder x6. decent whiting up to 36cm x10. cod 1x 57cm. lug and squid baits.

Any few going at ferrypoint, tried a few times myself over the last few weeks but just small whiting ?
