Well done, 3 Bass is a nice session. It can be good crack targeting them with the float :) For a bit of a change, I’ve had a go with a bombarda float rig lately, trailing an eddy stone eel, but no joy. Might give the bait a go after seeing your report :) great to see so many bass around this year.

A lad beside me got a trout and bass fly fishing so I’m sure they would have taken lures but I had the rag to use up

Great fishing there pal. They’ve so far eluded me in north Dublin this year. You’ve given me some motivation for the weekend now!

Happy days. I've tried rag on the float once or twice for bass but not enough. Was there much current? I've found it hard to stop baits getting torn up by the current when I've to bring them back from downtide

Just cast it so it drifts towards you ,when it drifts past you just bring it in slow, then move up a bit and cast again to cover the ground.

Excellent stuff
Used the float in mornington last week but there's no getting clear of the crabs there. They swam up to it every cast

I got a fair few crabs myself ,it’s amazing how they get on the bait when it’s flying along in the current

Cheers Eoghan .
I often pondered would trying for them on the float be worth it.
The results speak for themselves
