Equipment: 11ft bass rod with shimano 4000 reel.
Bait/Lures: Twisted boom arm trace with 2 squid lures attached and a 3oz lead at the end.
Conditions: Cold, full moon, murky water.
Result: Blank
Wanted to try Skerries again for some squid seeing as there was a red moon a few days ago and it's still pretty much a full moon. I parked down the very end of the pier with my car running and lights on full beam as I read squid are attracted to light! I would have a few casts then put the lures down sitting in front of the headlights to charge up while I warmed up in the car for a few minutes and repeat. 2 hours, all I caught was a heap of bootlace and a cold
I reckon the main issue was the water being very coloured, so I'll give it another try on the next full moon and hopefully there is a bit more clarity!
