Telegraph Pole Howth 24.08.2020

#1 Post by Gonzo »

When: 24/08/2020
Where: The Telegraph Pole Howth
Duration: 17:00-18:00
High Water: 16:08
Equipment: 11ft bass rod with shimano 4000 reel.
Bait/Lures: Pollock Basher Red Tube Feathers
Conditions: Overcast with choppy waters
Result: 5 big mackerel

Went down to the Telegraph Pole in Howth for a few cast's yesterday in the hopes of a pollock or codling, about 10 minutes in I was onto a nice mackerel, another 20 minutes or so after that my rod bent over so much I thought I was snagged, took me a while to get them in but it was 3 of the biggest mackerel I've ever seen! Fished for another little while after that and caught another mackerel before heading off!

Fair play, you're putting in the hours, nice mackerel.
