Kilcoole Friday 24th July

#1 Post by wes77 »

Tried here for 2 hours, from 14:00 to 16:00 and blanked.
Using kiltys, savagegear sandeels, dexter wedges.
Very heavy weed, making spinning very difficult. I'd say I pulled in my weight in weed then called it a day!!

Cheers for the report, was thinking of heading out that way, think I’ll give it a miss now with the weed situation

Ive never Fished it !! how does wicklow beach fair out with tides/Depths etc , I normally bring the kids out as far as Penny come quick/Brittas so its fishable for them as the beaches mentioned above are a nightmare (but the fishing has been very slow ) any info would be great , thanks

Hi Jelly,

apologies I've been off line, Wicklow is fantastic this time of year, on fine calm days you can catch lots of species there. Small rag or Mac strips will get you Gurnards Mac Gars Plaice Dabs etc.. Once dark approaches the doggies and occasional Ray show up to sandeel or fish baits. Nice clean beach and very accessible.

Good luck if you head out.
