South beach Arklow

#1 Post by Its Ofishal »

Myself and a buddy fished sth Arklow beach yesterday from low to high (4 beachcasters). Firstly a few flounder and dabs and then at about mid tide we caught quite a few Dogfish, a few whiting, 4 small eels,3 smoothhound and finally I got a rare catch of a fine lobster near the pier for a lobster cocktail for my lunch today. Overall a great evening fishing from 530pm till 130am.

Fair play, Arklow nearly always throws up a few fish. Which end did you fish? I usually fish up the far end at the 2nd carpark cos I like to keep an eye on the car

Pulled up at the bottom of the pier at the end of the road and could see the car most of the time but I could see people all along the beach south of me.

Nice mix of species, sounds like a busy session. Were the eels little conger or the freshwater variety?
