Cahore

#1 Post by Its Ofishal »

Im going to try the rocks where it meets the beach just south of cahore harbour for anything really. I hope to put a biggish bait (mack) out as far as I can and crab, sandeel and rag closer in and Im just asking if anyone has tried here and am I doing the right thing down here.

Just because it's the east coast and June, I'd be putting the crab bait out a decent distance for some hounds!

Fished a kayak competition there last June. Blennies, gobys, Ballan, corkwing, sand smelt, pout, scorpion, all on the inside of the pier if things aren't happening. Had a strap conger in a crab trap, Bass on the reef north of the pier, dabs, whiting, grey and tub gurnards, scad, dogs, macks, huss a few hundred meters out.
Other lads had Codling, Herring, Pollock, Poor cod, Sandeel/Launce, Smooth hound, Tope, Thornback ray outside and Weever at the pier.
Good luck.
