Bait

#1 Post by leec »

Does anyone know anyone selling fresh bait (peelers, lug, rag) in the Cork area?

Plenty of lug to dig on the beaches down there, try to find a fairly protected area, estuaries are always good. If you know of any Asian stores they might have boxes of squid frozen. There should be tackle shops around too. Where are you based?

Based in the City, my usual man to go to is in Youghal but he's not getting crab anymore and his go to isn't either.

Bait shop in East Cork shut down so stuck a wee bit.

Dan in Halfway Angling centre might be able to sort you out. He gets crab and rag regluarly. Im not sure if he does lug as said earlier its just as easy to dig around.

Thanks James,

I use Halfway for tackle but found their bait very hit and miss, had some really poor frozen crab from there on a couple of occasions.....so prefer to get it direct from lads who get the crab...seems like everyone has disappeared.

Nice website BTW.

Cheers.
