Bass Bait

Lure or bait for bass? Been using rag and no luck. Should I give peeler a go?

Depends on the location and sea state. If calm, I’d suggest crab or sandeel. Saying that, I’ve caught bass on lug and rag. Large sandeel (Launce) would be your best best but if your fishing somewhere near crabs it won’t last long. You should also try cocktail baits. Mix it up. Throw out a second rod and use different bait. Might also be that your casting too far. Lots of bass are caught very close to shore. If there is a surf, you can try spinning but location is key to finding the fish. What part of the coast are you fishing?
