Bait: Peeler crab tipped with squid.
Conditions: A little bit of surf and overcast with slight westerly breeze, the odd bit of rain/drizzle.
Result: A 44cm Bass weighing 2.1lb

This morning in the mail I received these little bell thingys with lights on them that clip onto the rod tip to help detect bites that I'd bought from amazon and also a new bass rod I'd bought from henrys tackle shop

Got to my mark at 18:00 and scoped out a location to setup camp, found a spot right in front of a deep gulley covered in rocks close in, started off with only a bit of squid since I only had 8 crabs, things were slow for first 2-3 hours. Around 8pm I started using the peeler and tipping it off with a bit of squid. Around 9pm while I was in the sand dunes relieving myself I hear the little bells go off, so I darted down the dunes and grabbed the rod, I started reeling and could feel some resistance, and then a run on the drag, fish on, got it in and was in shock, nice big bass graced my lines! After months of trying to catch a bass I've finally done it, my persistence has paid off big time! That was the only action I got for the rest of the evening so went home to fillet my bass after running out of peeler.
