Great Blasket

#1 Post by delmonte »

I’m heading out to Great Blasket island for two nights later in the month and thinking I will chance wetting a line. I’m wondering has anyone ever tried fishing off the beach or otherwise there?

Last time I was the there the beach and surf was covered with seals... best of luck with that lol. I would think ya could try from the peir for wrasse, pollock straps etc.

The rest of the island that I saw was to high a cliff to fish from.

Yeah I read they like to hangout there. I’m picking a mate up in Newcastle west so might chance bringing a few lug and sandeel. Worst comes to worst I’ll use them on the way home

Theres still plenty of room to fish on the beach despite the seals, the currents and rips there have bass written all over them
