Croatia tactics and tackle

How’s it going ,

I’m out in Croatia for a weeks sailing and wondering does anybody have any tip or tactics for catching fish from a yacht in this part of the world. What baits to use or species to target etc.

I used a small slow pitch jig from a moving yacht over there and caught scad and Mackerel. Just cast it ahead of the boat and let it fall and start the retrieve when you’re over it. If you anchor and fish on the bottom with small fish strips you can catch bream, other bits and bobs, even John Dory. There are bluefin tuna there too, but even if you had the gear, it would be tricky to fight one from a yacht.
