Sea trout spinning rod

#1 Post by Fish Tracker »

Looking to get a sea trout spinning rod, was thinking between 8-9 ft rated for lures of 7-25g. Any suggestions welcome. Will mostly be fishing estuaries.

A bit like how long is a piece of string nowadays there's so much choice on lure rods. I would stick to 8' rather than 9', I think longer rods lose "the feel" as they get longer. I use 7' rods mostly myself. What sort of budget have you in mind?

Can be solely dependent if you're wading into the said estuary. If you mainly stand at the waterline and/or estuary is subject to strong currents, then yes, 8/9 foot would do - can even double as a pollack bashing tool. If you like to wade and get amongst the fish - 7/8 foot 5-15gr
