Who is fishing in Waterford
Is there anybody else fishing in Waterford or do they just not bother with reports. No one seems interested in fishing down here any more. :? :? :?:

Fishing in Waterford
I fish in Waterford a fair bit. I'm only getting back to fishing after a 20 year absence so the fact that I'm useless means that my mark reports wouldn't make for nice reading
Was down this weekend and went fishing in a few places. Dunbrattin Head (mackerel), Boatstrand Pier (pollock) and Bunmahon beach (bass, sea trout etc). Caught nothing. My 6 year old son got more bites than I did
Looks like I'll have to head over to Cunnigar way to see Cortaz in action..

You know me Coaster, I'd fish there anytime.
I don't think that people should stop posting their catch reports because some Poacher might target the spots. These spots are being pilliged on a daily basis. If you keep the spot to yourself this poaching will continue regardless. If a few more anglers know about a place there there are a few more people there to report illegal fishing. Thre more people reporting illegal fishing in a spot the more likely it is that the poacher will be caught. If we all keep quite about marks that are being poached then this will continue to happen till there is nothing left and the poacher will move to the next mark.
Just my thoughts,
Kev

Dont stop reporting
I have to say I agree with MAC on this. I have had a change of heart on it as I was also worried. But the poaching is of such epidemic proportions that more anglers seen fishing and keeping a close eye on the situation it may make these guys more fearful. Lets hope anyway.

Your echoing my thoughts on this one mac. It really p**ses me off that people would rather tell nobody about a mark instead of tackling the problem at its root.
The way to deal with poaching is keep ringing the SRFB till they do something. Keep ringing the Garda and Boycott restaurants and shops who sell these fish. Not stay quite and let them get away with it.

Posting Fishing Reports
Coaster
Fifty anglers would not kill the amont off bass these boats can take out on nets in a single session.
The more anglers the more difficult (inconvenient) for the the boats.
As for not posting.
These poachers know more about these areas than the people posting catches.
If your planning another session I'm in.
