Killiney Beach 12/1/19

#1 Post by jack01986 »

Date: 12/1/19
Time: 15:00-19:00
Tide: Dropping from High

Rigs: Size 1 three hook flappers
Bait: mackerel and lug
Fish: 4 Coalfish and one Scorpion Fish

Not a hugely productive session but nice to be out. The sea was flat calm despite the strong wind, bites were hard to come by but managed to get a few small coalies and a solitary scorpion fish.

Well that's not bad, much better than the pin whiting which plague the bay. What bait did the coalies take?

I fished Howth side on Monday , had mussel , frozen black lug, squid and fresh rag worm, size 6 and size 8 hooks, still only pin whiting.

Killiney always produces different species, pity about the sizes though.
