POINT OF INTEREST

#1 Post by donal domeney »

I got this this morning via my club Secretary; it may be of interest to the casters to follow up.

Hi all,
At the Sports HQ in Blanchardstown there is ground available to develop into a casting area if anybody is interested. This offer won't stand for very long, so if interested in same, please let me know by Saturday, as I will be attending an ACI meeting early next week and I will raise the matter there.

Regards,

John Martin,
Secretary,
Irish Federation of Sea Anglers.

i sent that onto sportscast ireland 2 years ago and around the ifsa via the national secretary - no reply - its a shame that resource is sitting there unused for the last 6 or 7 years
as the old addage goes - use it or lose it

if it was taken up - it could be used as a source of funding for all fishing and organisations within it - as its not a blood sport and would be looked on favourably

murmurs that it could become an olympic sport soon enough

Exactly how big of an area is it?
And what's in the surrounding areas?
As mentioned crack offs can travel a long way..

The last time I was approached about this as a venue was with Tom lillis (rip) but when I gave him our court diamentions and run off needed he said it wouldn't suitable!?
