Derrymore Island
Session on Derrymore Island yesterday. Fished from LT up to HT which was about 11pm. We tried various baits and cocktails, Mackerel, Crab, Sandeel, Squid and even harbour rag. A solitary Dog Fish caught on Sandeel saved the blank. Spent most of the session hauling weed of the rigs, (which at times held small crab that were also stripping the bait off the hooks), and line and trying to figure out why the fish weren't feeding. Finally surrendered to the fact that it just wasn't gonna happen and wrapped up as darkness fell. it's days like this that help me appreciate the times that the fishing is good.
