Wading Jackets

#1 Post by Mullet Purt »

Well lads, just wondering does anyone have any suggestions for a good wading jacket? Looking to invest and wouldn't mind some direction. I have been looking at a Daiwa Wilderness or a Scierra X-Tech. Thanks in advance.

Cant comment on the jackets mentioned but I have an Airflo Delta wading jacket.
It has never let me down, I've always come home dry, even on the muggy wet days.
The pockets have good space in them and the built in tool retainers are very handy.
The hood is spacious and will go over a baseball cap but does not fold away.

Hope this is of help.

I have gotten great service from a Climb8 wading jacket. So much so I got the Lough Conn jacket recently too.

I have the X-tech - it's a great jacket and I'd have no problem recommending it.

If you're fishing in the salt/surf make sure the jacket you choose has an adjustable waist that you can tighten so waves/swell are kept out

I switched over from a traditional wading jacket (Greys G Series, it was very good lasted 7 years) to one of these last year :

It gives me a slight piece of mind when fishing in certain areas or conditions. It has auto inflate as well as manual inflate. I had no issue deep wading with it last year.

Good luck.

Ended up ordering the Scierra X-Tech but the Scierra Kenai Pro came in the post (luckily!) nice price difference in the jackets. Jacket paid for itself on the first outing, took a huge dip and came out bone dry. Thanks for all the advice anyway lads.

Tight lines.

Have the Scierra C & R Wading Jacket - bullet proof.
Highly Waterproof and breathable too.

My Sciera leaked at the seems of the arms last year after a morning of heavy rain. Fixed it with Aquasure or aquaseal cant remember. Apart from that the jacket is ideal. Adjustable wrists to stop water etc etc...
