good place for a weekend!

a few of us want to go for a weekends fishing.any tips on the best places for a good variety of species with a chance of a big one.donegal would be a first choice but we are willing to try anywhere.

Or get a small boat and go off Millisle, plenty of fish, no joke. Argh. Depths of 20 foot plus. :shock: 8)

Do a search under shore reports for Dunree, wide variety of ground and species available. Or what about St. Johns Point in Donegal for some Wrasse and Pollack action?
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

If you are willing to go anywhere then it has to be Dingle in Kerry. Great boat fishing and the shore fishing is fantastic. There is a spot down there where you can catch most species. This time of year with the mackerel around it is unreal.

I'll second that, if it's variety you want and a beautiful weekend away then come to Kerry, that's why I live here :-) Bass fishing is a bit slow at the moment however the rocks are on fire, loads of big pollack in the 4 - 6lb bracket almost every session with wrasse touching 6lbs already as well.... The mackerel have been in in numbers since mid may
