I caught one Mackerel on Sunday April 3, fishing from the shore in Bantry Bay. The fish took a small pirk and was hooked within 30' of the shore. The fish was caught close to the bottom as I was after Pollock.
Was out in Rosbeg, Killary and then over to Little Killary for a hour or two running up to high tide yesterday evening. Not a sign of any mackerel being caught. All we got were a few pollack in L Killary... There were plenty of people fishing in Rosbeg. Nobody had any.....
