Bray, Co. Wicklow

#1 Post by Richie07 »

Went out Friday evening after work for a few hours. It was coming up to low tide so wasn't expecting that much. Conditions we great though, calm with just a slight movement on the water. I was using soft plastics and I managed to land 1 decent size Pollock for these parts, around the 4lb mark. Great scrap and a savage take. I was using illex nitro shad, great action from this. I also switched over to suffix pro 8 braid, previously I was using Powerpro, but I have to say the pro 8 is absolutely amazing to fish with, casts like a dream and is so thin in diameter, I would highly recommend it.

Was that out Bray head direction Richie ? Have heard great reports about that sufix pro 8 braid good value too. I've been using the Daiwa J Braid this year similar price point and so far I must say that it's excellent

Yeah, that's the general direction SC, there's quite a lot of lobster and crab pots along that way so have to be careful avoiding the ropes.

Sorry for chiming in. Caught a lovely bass off the beach on Saturday morning.
