Kilmore Quay -

#1 Post by jellybait »

Launched out kilmore with another boat early Sunday with the wind a bit fresher than expected we stayed on a few reefs off the back off the islands catching plenty of small cod and lovely cuckoo wrasse , with no decent fish showing and the winds settling down to what they were meant to be we decided to go back to our original plan and push on out in search for some bigger fish , after a nice steam out and being escorted by a pod of dolphins and spotting a minkie whale and good weather ,it was going to be a good day regardless of the fishing , but some days everything falls into place and we had some lovely ling to 12 lb and pollack to 10 lb and a few cod , sport was great and most fish coming to baits on two hook rigs and baited hookais with pirks , not many came to soft plastics interesting enough , no mackerel about yet either which is a pain as the price of mack for bait is crazy , anyway a great day had by all and here is looking forward to the next nice break in the weather
