NBP-National Bass Programme. Busy Spring

#1 Post by tommy e »

The second season I take part in the NBP. In 2015 I tagged almost 100 Sea Bass. In 2016, almost 40. 3/4/2016 one of my fish was recaptured! B-1042 was tagged by me on 29/10/15 at Dingle Harbour and was recaptured 3/4/16 at Fermoyle Beach which is and it is approximately 57kms from Dingle to Fermoyle Beach by water.. The fish was at liberty for 157 days. Another recapture on 12/4/16, tagged 29/10/15, travelled from Dingle to Fermoyle. 63 km in 166 days. Grew 1 cm to 47cm.

11/4/16 I caught at Smerwick Harbour Sea Bass with tag No. 01088. That fish was tagged on 24/8/15 in the Shannon Estuary. It travelled 69 kms. At liberty for 232 days!

I started the lure season already 11/02/2016. I caught so far 50 Sea Bass. The largest 65 cm. It may be a good year.

It was a very simple operation in a graphics program.
I had to hide the lure. This is prototype of a new Salmo. But soon everything will be known about this new sea trout and sea bass lure.
