Bantry Bay Shot head

I am surprised that this has not been flagged on the IFI website. They usually post Aquaculture related stories as they come up and then they end up here.

So FYI

Several groups already preparing an appeal. The department actually stated it would have no significant impact on wild stocks or the environment. This came the week after a review of over 300 scientific papers was published in a prestigious peer-reviewed journal, found that salmon farms can have a significant impact on wild salmon and sea trout stocks: https://research-repository.st-andrews. ... 10023/7295

The department clearly don't care about the environment, don't care that they are ignoring the best scientific knowledge available, and don't care about flouting EU law. It's all about pandering to foreign corporations who promise a few jobs and repatriated profits while we're left with the environmental cost, and the IFA lobbyists, who are paid by the industry to distort and muddy the water.
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
