What can I say lads
not photographing that fish was a big mistake and I'm bound to get plenty of slaggings as I appear to be exaggerating or lying. So lesson learned, but slag away
it had stripes so it might have been a Zebra

Nice one Davey
or I could paint some stripes on a bass, but I'm not very good a catching them, or any other fish for that matter

Decided to try Ballycotton on the rising tide early yesterday evening with a mate. Pier was like Grand Central Goddamn Station. Cars everywhere. People everywhere. leads and hooks everywhere. We said f**k this and headed to a nearby rock mark.
At this spot, all we caught was launce after launce, sometimes two at a time. Not a mackerel in sight. If I had different gear, I might have tried livebaiting one in the hope of a bass.
Very discouraging, it was a warm still evening heading for high tide, should have been plenty of mackerel about.

Hi all quick report from earlier in the week
Tues 1st Sept
7.30PM up to HT at 8PM
Kinsale
Report:
Maybe a dozen to 15 people fishing between bridge and piers, total mackerel caught by all might have been 30 at a guess, I didn't get any only fished for about half an hour this time.
So mackerel not very plentiful
not giving up yet once this fine spell stays in place
Blackie

Was down in slade Saturday 12/09 trying out some new metal jigs, caught three average mackeral and loads of 1/2 lb pollock. All came as it was getting dark, on dropping tide. Saw one other guy catching one or two.
