Mackeral caught in small numbers to the west of Cork harbor, not quite as far west as Kinsale.

I got them at the castle.. bout 4 miles south of Kilkee, next day I took the boat out to Loop Head and caught none so its still touch and go.

while at the castle a local told me he had been there since 9am and only caught 3 just before I arrived... which was 1:10pm, I spoke to a couple of lads on the car park as I was leaving a they had spent a lot of time there the day before and blanked.. I may have just got lucky Again :-)

was messing around with lures in south galway, local came up to me to ask are the mackeral in - i said no and heard of none so far this year. he was barely 20 yards on his way - the sea boiled - i got one hooked and landed! - and that was it - no more action - seem to be small shoals yet

caught 7 @ N. Dublin - some were caught as soon as the lure hit the water - others were deep down
