Fished two days out of Crosshaven with Whispering Cloud boat . 1st day had about 40 macks in an hour 6 rods. 2nd day same , enough for 6 rods in about half an hour. Had reasonable mixed fishing over two days, codling to about 5lb smallish pollack conger to 24lb and some decent ling.
Too many lures ... not enough time...

Fished the Smiths on Sunday in Cobh SAC's first comp. Plenty of big mackerel about, caught them unintentionally while ground fishing - they were a bit of a plague at times.
Why not join Cobh SAC - looking for new members....

Half a dozen in two drops over the smiths bank this morning. These were the only macks amongst the cod, pollock & whiting in a 3hr session.

Out on Sunday from Carlingford - no sign of mackerel and very little sign of other fish.

Coming back, the NW wind was over the tide - I've never seen the Lough as rough.

We saw gannets diving at the blockhouse but there was too little water to risk heading over.

Thick with Mackerel today beside the Cork Buoy. Bit on the small side mind you but plenty of them. Young lad had a ball hauling em for a half hour. He was last out in February, 'this is just like whiting fishing da'....
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D
