Youghal 20/03/15

#1 Post by mrphybrian »

12:00 to 17:00
Peeler crab
2flounder 31cm &39cm
Headed to Youghal for the day to blow out the cobwebs before the club comps start! Fished the point for an hour before the tide got too much so headed to the slob bank.started quiet with a lot of suspended weed until about 2 hours before high water and in came a little plump flounder of 31 cm,blank saved!, threw him back.Next cast another of 39cm he was deep hooked so he came back to the pan! Nice weather but slow fishing, cod are well and truly gone!

Nice to see a few flounder off the slob again.Regarding the deep hooked flounder have a look at the clips of how to unhook deephooked flatfish.Manys a lost cause has been salvaged using those methods
