an lug beag - an corraun

#1 Post by corbyeire »

[b]People: myself and one other

[b]Duration: 2hrs in 3hrs out

[b]Tide: high at 1.30

[b]Weather: very humid even in the darkness

[b]Bait: lug, scallops, oysters - rubber fish

[b]Rigs: pulleys with the bait

[b]Results: blank!

[b]Report: this appeared to be a great mark to try for flatties at the beach on one side and pollack etc on the channel

there was some flow between lug and achill beg - two lads had been fishing for about 4 hours before us and had a few pollack - nothing sizeable

there were no rock but every retrieve brought weed in - locals told us of sizeable coldfish take the day before

with the moon light and the high tide i could see large fish swimming in the channel - they started jumping - couldnt see right but they sounded massive - they were hardly porpoise or something?!?!

somethiing big took the tail off one of the rubber fish - and the sand was noted to be full of crabs - but what a place eerie almost

ah well enough site seeing - want to get back to catching :)
