Swords Show 2015

#1 Post by shortcircuit »

Hi all, will be going to this event this year, but the crowd organising it haven't put up the event schedule/program yet.Have looked on their website and also on the show's Facebook page.

I need to know which day I want to go to so I can get my passport stamped.

Do they typically have the program for each day identical? Or might there be some events on on the Saturday that might not be on Sunday and vice versa?

Thanks

There was a few cars broken into 2 years ago but as far as I know there was no problems last year with plenty of security around.
Live out on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. Always willing to assist visiting anglers.

The schedule for Sunday is usually the same as Saturday although the timings of talks etc. is usually different.

I suffered on the Friday night two years ago. The security was really beefed up last year and was great at all times. I did not hear of any incidents last year. Did anybody hear of incidents? I imagine the arrangements will be the same this year.

It looks to be a good show this year. Each year there seems to be more manufacturers there - showing their products as distinct from selling. Pure Fishing, Tronixpro, Daiwa etc...

I went two years ago, and loved your presentation on Soft plastics Jim. Wasn't there last year - If someone from Maramedia can confirm here that cars will be monitored, I'd gladly spend the entrance fee (and more).

concentrate this time, Dougal. These (pointing to plastic cows on table) are very small; those (pointing out of the window) are far away...

And Hello Ted - whoever you may be! Interesting.

Yep! That's the plan!
I'm not sure of my timings yet. Looking at the floor plan it looks like the theater has been moved upstairs. Anybody from here be sure to say hello!

Thanks Rory! (I must get cracking on a new presentation.... )
All I can say is that the people from Mara Media are always trying to improve their show. Security was really beefed up after the incidents two years ago. They tell me that arrangements will be as good as last year. I didn't hear of any problems last year.

I certainly enjoy the weekend! It's great craic and meeting with many like-minded anglers is superb. There are a good few manufacturers stands. I like these stands - they are there to show off their wares rather than to sell. I enjoy the craic after the specimen awards in Bewleys too.

Is it me or is this very strange? Maramedia are running the Swords Show 2015. They are promoting both.....the shore angling sector and the commercial sector. A bit hypocritical....

Mara Media are just that, a media company. I'm afraid they do not run their shows out of love (Not totally anyway :D ), more out of business. They also run the cycling show but I reckon they are not anti-car :D :D
They run fine shows. They are always looking for improvement. Year on year that I have been involved with the angling show it has gotten better and better. I have also been to the commercial show in Galway and it is a grand day out.

You could equally complain about monofil manufacturers selling mono to commercials, or hook manufacturers selling to commercials, or boat builders servicing both the RSA and commercial fisher markets.....

Y'aint gonna get anywhere with it.
